Predatory Whiting?

Well predatory might be overstating it a little but recently Sam and I have been surprised to find whiting following, chasing and aggressively hitting blades and small plugs. They were only small whiting but I never really thought that whiting would chase a lure like that and we were a little surprised when we started regularly catching them this way.

I guess I never really thought too much about whiting at all, particularly small ones and I've got to admit that this is something that I've found fascinating with the whole LRF thing, it makes you look at many species again and quite often rethink what you thought you knew about them, plus its lots of fun.
