A round up of the past few weeks...

Sam has been kept busy for the last couple of weeks with the LRF stuff and he's been racking up the species count too. The Ecogear Strawtails, Marukyu Power Isome and Gulp 4" Sand worms are still producing fish. Here are a few of his recent reports.

30/06/2011 Wicklow LRF - A mixed bag
I have not fished Wicklow Harbour for a while now, so this afternoon I headed down to see what was on offer. When I arrived there was a lot of people fishing for mackerel so I moved just down from them and set up the Reins rod (Raz Ajiringer-Z 7' 6"-0.4-7g) with 0.3PE on the reel, size 10 hook and a 3g bullet weight. The 'Mack Men' were looking at me as if I was mad and they might be right but from the first cast I was into fish. A scorpion fish then a pouting and so on, it was non stop action from start to finish. It ended up 10 Pollock,4 Scorpion fish ,2 Pouting,1 Wrasse,1 Launce - Mack & Bait men, 2 Mack's, 1 Dogfish, not bad for a mad man.

26/06/2011 Dublin LRF - Mackerel and pollock
Well the plan was to do a bit of Bass fishing last night but the colour of the water put pay to that. I brought the LRF gear just in case, So it was off to the local harbour to see if there were any Mackerel showing, I did manage to get one vertical jigging but just the one so a change to LRF gear to have a go at the small Pollock with the vibe lures on the 0.4 to 7g rod (Reins Raz), great fun.

18/06/2011 Dublin LRF

Hi all, I know the Bass ban is over but this weekend I am not going to get much of a chance to have a go at the bass, so on the way home from work this morning I fished a local rock venue to see if there were any wrasse. I fished over low water and had wrasse and a scorpion fish on the ultra light gear. The wrasse gave a good account of himself on the light rod, not bad for an hours fishing.
