Off the mark at last...

A bit of a slow session and not a whole lot to report but we caught, not a lot admittedly but we caught all the same. Myself and Sam decided to try a bit of LRF at a local harbour mark.

Sam was first off the mark with a small pollock, taken in close, otd with a Reins Rockvib. It went quiet after that so we decided to try another spot. The second spot was full of small fry/sand eel seemingly drawn in by the ambient light but surprisingly there didn't seem to be any bigger fish in feeding on them. I decided to try and let the lure swing in along the harbour wall, just as it hit the bottom I felt a little pluck and lifted into a better fish (relatively speaking), a nice little codling. We fished on for a while longer but unfortunately we didn't get any more fish.

HRF (Hard Rock Fish)

The lads over on Jersey Bass Guides have always been very forward thinking in their approach to lure fishing and their blog, a fantastic source of information. Well now they have taken things a step further and have begun to produced a on-line magazine, the first issue is out now and focuses on European style HRF fishing.

 Check it out here.
